This set of two polished Ankole horn utensils is perhaps the most stylish and refined way to serve salads and pasta.
In addition to their impressive size, Ankole horns are also known for their beautiful variation of colors—ranging from light to dark, with exotic stripes of ivory, black, and brown. Similar to a fingerprint, no two horns are exactly alike, making each of these spoon sets completely unique and rare.
The Ankole horn used was sourced ethically as a food by-product. Made from start to finish by our team of in-house cow horn artisans at our design-and-craft studio in Kampala, Uganda.
Because these natural spoons are made of pure horn, which is made up of keratin protein, there are special considerations for their proper care. They should be cleaned after use using only mild soap and lukewarm water. They should never be left soaking or placed in a dishwasher, but rather should be dried immediately using a soft cloth.
It is important to avoid leaving spoons near heat sources or in direct sunlight, as warm temperatures can cause the horn to dry out or change shape, which could result in small cracks.
