Handwoven using locally sourced Milulu, a reed-like grass that is grown near the city of Iringa, Tanzania, the bold, striped design and roomy nature of this basket make it a unique and beautiful storage solution. Use it to hold a potted plant or style on its own in a corner. Either way, it’s a sophisticated addition to any space.
Each basket is meticulously handwoven by a Tanzanian craftswoman over the course of a week. The grass is harvested, collected and dried in the sun before it is finally woven into this traditional design, which plays a significant role in the Hehe people's history and culture.
No two baskets are completely alike—resulting in a truly one-of-a-kind piece you’ll enjoy for years to come.
Keep basket in a dry, cool area and dust regularly with a soft cloth.
